GitPlane

Terms and conditions

Pre-launch terms — purchasing is not yet available · version 2026-10-29.

Provider and scope

GitPlane is provided by The Web & Social LTD, a company registered in England and Wales, number 12664285. Contact info@gitplane.co.uk for support, purchases and cancellation requests. We are not registered for VAT.

These terms describe the standard desktop application and direct website purchases. The product and purchase information shown before payment forms part of your contract. Store purchases are subject to Apple’s applicable purchase terms.

What GitPlane provides

GitPlane discovers, inspects and compares local Git checkouts. It is read-only with respect to repository modification. Duplicate groups are informational; branch and commit equality do not establish commit ancestry or whether changes should be merged.

The initial direct-distribution build targets Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later and requires Git 2.31 or later. Node.js and SQLite are bundled with the desktop app. Check compatibility before purchasing. The hosted website does not scan your computer.

GitPlane Pro, Windows, Linux, Intel Mac, the Chrome extension, Cloud and Teams are not included as released products merely because they appear on a roadmap. Future release dates, cross-platform access and a Pro upgrade price are not promised.

Price and direct delivery

The standard GitPlane launch price is £19 as a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The final amount and product are shown before payment. We do not charge UK VAT while unregistered. Any applicable changes to pricing or tax treatment must be shown before a future order is placed.

When direct sales open, Stripe processes the payment. After payment is confirmed, the delivery service emails a private link to the checkout address. Delayed payment methods can take longer to confirm. Keep your purchase confirmation and contact us if delivery fails.

A successful payment confirmation forms the direct purchase contract for the product shown at checkout. A return to a confirmation webpage alone does not establish that payment succeeded. Store purchases are governed by Apple’s applicable purchase terms and delivery process.

Permission to use the software

A valid purchase permits you to use the purchased GitPlane application for your own personal work or internal business work, subject to these terms and any applicable licence presented with the product. Ownership of GitPlane’s software and branding is not transferred to you.

Do not resell or redistribute the application or share private customer download links to give others access without permission. Nothing here restricts rights that the law or an applicable third-party open-source licence gives you. We do not impose an artificial repository-count limit.

No free lifetime upgrades, fixed device-activation allowance or access to future editions is promised. The current desktop application does not use licence activation. For a Mac App Store purchase, Apple’s standard licensed-application agreement applies unless an applicable custom agreement is supplied.

Cancellation, refunds and faulty digital content

Your statutory rights are not excluded. For UK consumer direct purchases, you may exercise the applicable 14-day cancellation right by emailing info@gitplane.co.uk with information sufficient to identify your order. We do not treat downloading alone as an automatic waiver of that right.

We are not currently obtaining a separate express agreement to immediate digital supply and loss of the cancellation right. These terms therefore do not claim that all downloads are non-refundable. We will not retrospectively apply a waiver to an existing purchase.

If digital content is faulty, not as described or not fit for an agreed purpose, applicable consumer remedies continue to apply. Contact us with the problem and your order reference. For App Store payment refunds, use Apple’s purchase-support process; this does not remove any rights you otherwise have.

Your repositories and responsibilities

Only scan folders you are entitled to access. Operating-system permissions may prevent inspection of some directories. GitPlane does not bypass those permissions or modify source files during inspection. Keep appropriate backups and use your Git tools to decide what to keep, merge or remove.

Checkout status and duplicate comparisons describe the metadata available at the time of inspection. Refresh after changing repositories. Do not interpret informational similarity as advice to delete or merge a checkout.

Availability and liability

We aim to provide the application as described, but do not promise uninterrupted website availability, detection of every repository in inaccessible folders or compatibility with every Git configuration. We will deal with faults according to applicable law and any express purchase commitments.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Consumer statutory rights remain unaffected. We do not use a blanket “as is” statement to remove those rights.

Privacy, changes and governing law

Our privacy notice explains local repository processing and separate website, payment and support data. Email info@gitplane.co.uk with questions. Changes to future terms do not retrospectively remove rights under an existing purchase.

English law applies, subject to mandatory rights and protections that apply where you live. Consumers retain any right to bring a claim in the courts available to them under applicable law. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern.
